  • The central government has appointed former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Shaktikanta Das (retired IAS: 1980, Tamil Nadu) as Principal Secretary-2 to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, effective February 22, 2025. 
  • His term will end with the Prime Minister's term or until further orders, whichever comes first. According to an order from the Cabinet Appointment Committee (ACC), Das will work alongside PK Mishra, who holds the position of Principal Secretary-1 to the Prime Minister.
