  • Former Chief Election Commissioner Navin Chawdhary, who oversaw the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, passed away in Delhi at the age of 79. 
  • Navin Chawdhary, who was an IAS officer of the 1969 batch, was appointed as Election Commissioner in 2005 and served as Chief Election Commissioner from 2009 to 2010.
