The 19th edition of the India-Nepal joint military exercise, Exercise Suryakiran XIX - 2025, began on November 25 in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, and will continue until December 8. Equal contingents of 334 personnel from India’s Assam Regiment and Nepal’s Devi Datta Regiment are participating. The exercise focuses on jungle warfare, counter-terrorism, humanitarian assistance, and disaster relief. This edition emphasizes emerging technologies, including drones, AI-enabled decision tools, unmanned logistics, and armored platforms. The drills aim to enhance interoperability, tactical efficiency, and bilateral defense cooperation between India and Nepal.
