Dr. Vivek Joshi, an IAS officer of the Haryana cadre from the 1989 batch, assumed office as Election Commissioner on February 19, 2025, while Gyanesh Kumar became the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).
His tenure will last till 18 February 2031.
