  • The upcoming Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and Hyderabad-Bengaluru Expressway will be the first projects in the country to be enabled with an optical fibre cable network as part of India’s National Broadband Mission (NBM).
  • This OFC infra in turn will provide dark fibre connectivity to telecom operators to provide internet connectivity to remote and far-flung areas.
  • This will involve development of 18,000 km of OFC infrastructure crisscrossing the length and breadth of the country.
