Delhi's Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, has officially rolled out "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0," a tree-planting initiative. She marked the launch by planting a 'sindoor' tree sapling at a government school. This local campaign follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi's nationwide "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" program, which began on World Environment Day. The initiative encourages individuals to plant trees as a tribute to their mothers, symbolizing the nurturing aspects shared by both motherhood and nature.
No Smoking Day 2026 is observed on March 11, urging people worldwide to quit tobacco and embrace a healthier, smoke-free life.
