  • The Ministry of Defence has signed a ₹2,312 crore contract with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited to procure eight Dornier 228 aircraft for the Indian Coast Guard. The agreement was signed in the presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh in New Delhi.
  • The project is expected to boost domestic manufacturing, create jobs, and strengthen MSME participation. It supports the government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make-in-India push while enhancing maritime security.
