The Government of India launched the fourth edition of the national campaign, “Nayi Chetna 4.0”, in November 2025 to prevent gender-based violence in rural areas and promote women’s safety, dignity and economic empowerment. The month-long campaign, inaugurated by Rural Development and Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, involves 11 central ministries and is implemented under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM). Running until 23 December 2025, the initiative aims to engage over 10 crore women in self-help groups to create a violence-free, inclusive rural society.
