  • In the latest development, the Central government announced to change the name of Rajpath and Central Vista lawns into Kartavya Path. 
  • The objective behind the decision is said to shed remnants of the British colony in India. 
  • The name old is said to be Kingsway in simple meaning. It was named as such in honour of King George V.
  • It is the celebrated venue of the Republic Day parade every year and stretches through Vijay Chowk to India Gate.
