The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Exporters (CGSE), providing 100% credit guarantee through the National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company Limited (NCGTC). The scheme will enable Member Lending Institutions to extend collateral-free credit facilities of up to ₹20,000 crore to eligible exporters, including MSMEs. Aimed at enhancing liquidity, market diversification, and global competitiveness, CGSE supports India’s goal of reaching USD 1 trillion in exports. The scheme will be implemented by the Department of Financial Services under a management committee chaired by the DFS Secretary.
