The week-long Bharat–Sri Lanka Sanskrit Mahotsav 2025 was inaugurated at the University of Colombo by India’s High Commissioner Santosh Jha and Sri Lanka’s Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Madhura Senevirathna. Jointly organised by the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Education, the Central Sanskrit University and the India–Sri Lanka Foundation, the festival celebrates Sanskrit as a timeless symbol of wisdom, harmony, and shared heritage. The event will feature workshops, lectures and cultural performances highlighting Sanskrit’s enduring role in strengthening India–Sri Lanka cultural ties.
