  • Veteran actor and theatre practitioner Amol Palekar will be honoured at the 21st Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards (META) 2026.
  • META 2026 will be held in New Delhi from March 19–25 at Kamani Auditorium and Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts.
  • META is instituted by the Mahindra Group and produced by Teamwork Arts to celebrate outstanding Indian theatre.
  • The 2026 edition received a record 422 submissions from 20+ states, 100+ cities, and ~60 languages and dialects.
  • Ten productions have been shortlisted to compete across 13 competitive categories at the festival.
  • The jury includes Amal Allana, Anuradha Kapur, Rajit Kapur, Satish Alekar and Ila Arun; awards night is on March 25.
