Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah launched two digital platforms: Sahakar Digi Pay and Sahakar Digi Loan to strengthen India’s urban cooperative banking sector. These apps aim to promote digital payments and paperless lending, enhancing efficiency and competitiveness among urban cooperative banks (UCBs). Sahakar Digi Pay enables real-time UPI and card-based transactions, while Sahakar Digi Loan supports end-to-end digital lending, from application to disbursal. Amit Shah set a goal to onboard 1,500 UCBs within two years and establish one urban cooperative bank in every town with over two lakh population by 2030, fostering financial inclusion and modernization in the cooperative sector.
