Gopal Vittal, Vice President and Managing Director of telecommunications company Bharti Airtel and Vice Chairman of GSMA, has been appointed as the acting chairman of the GSMA board.
This appointment comes after the resignation of Telefonica's Chairman and CEO Jose Maria Alvarez-Pallete from the company. Due to his resignation, he was no longer able to remain in the position of GSMA chairman.
