V Praveen Rao has been awarded the 7th Dr M S Swaminathan Award for services in the domains of 'agricultural research, education, extension, and administration' for the period 2017-19.
Praveen Rao has led 13 micro-irrigation research and consulting projects in India and other countries such as Israel and South Africa.
V Praveen Rao is the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University.
The award consists of a cash prize of Rs. 200,000 as well as a citation.
