  • हर साल 20 अक्टूबर को, विश्व ऑस्टियोपोरोसिस दिवस दुनिया भर में मनाया जाता है ताकि उस स्थिति के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाई जा सके जो किसी व्यक्ति की हड्डियों के स्वास्थ्य पर गंभीर प्रभाव डालती है।
  • इस बीमारी के कारण व्यक्ति की हड्डियां कमजोर हो जाती हैं। इंसान की हड्डियां इतनी कमजोर हो जाती हैं कि वह आसानी से टूट सकती हैं। ऑस्टियोपोरोसिस बार-बार फ्रैक्चर का कारण बन सकता है, जो विनाशकारी हो सकता है।
  • "Serve Up Bone Strength"  2021 में वैश्विक WOD अभियान का विषय है।
  • 20 अक्टूबर, 1996 को यूनाइटेड किंगडम की राष्ट्रीय ऑस्टियोपोरोसिस सोसायटी ने पहली बार विश्व ऑस्टियोपोरोसिस दिवस मनाया था।
