Vini Mahajan takes over as Secretary in the Jal Shakti Ministry

Ms Vini Mahajan assumed the charge as Secretary in the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation.
Ms. Mahajan is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Calcutta, where she was inducted into the Roll of Honour.
She was earlier the Chief Secretary of Punjab, a position she held till June 26, 2020.
She has previously served as Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Government of Punjab as well as Industries, Commerce, Information Technology and Investment Promotion Departments of the Government of Punjab.
From 2007 until 2012, Ms Mahajan was the Joint Secretary to the Prime Minister of India, and prior to that, she was the Director of the Ministry of Finance's Department of Economic Affairs in 2004-05.
Ms. Mahajan has also been the recipient of various academic honors including the National Talent Search Scholarship.
