  • Legendary sarod exponent Ustad Amjad Ali Khan conferred the Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia Lifetime Achievement Award.
  • He has also been awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian honor, in 2001.
  • On the occasion of the award ceremony, 75 artists led by Vivek Sonar of Gurukul Pratishthan also performed a flute symphony dedicated to 75 years of India's independence.
