Shubman Gill equals Babar Azam's world record after smashing 4th century in India vs New Zealand 3rd ODI

  • Indian opener Shubman Gill has matched Babar Azam's world record in the 3rd ODI between India and New Zealand at the Holkar Cricket Stadium Indore.
  • Joining forces with India captain Rohit Sharma in the 3rd ODI, opener Gill notched up his second century of the three-match series against Tom Latham-led New Zealand at the Holkar Cricket Stadium.
  • Pakistan skipper Babar created the world record when the star batter smashed 360 runs against the West Indies in 2016.
  • Gill also eclipsed veteran Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan with his 4th ODI ton in the high-scoring contest.
  • Gill achieved the special feat in 21 innings while Dhawan slammed four centuries in 24 innings for the two-time world champions.
  • The 23-year-old became the youngest batter to slam a double century in ODI cricket at Hyderabad. Gill's 208-run knock off 149 balls guided India to a thrilling 12-run win over New Zealand in the 1st ODI.
