Shubman Gill becomes 5th Indian to score double century in ODIs

  • Shubman Gill on Wednesday (January 18) became the 5th Indian player to score a double-century in ODIs. 
  • The right-handed batsman achieved the milestone in the first ODI of the three-match series against New Zealand in Hyderabad. 
  • The former India U-19 World Cup winner has joined Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan in the elite list of Indian batsmen to hit a double-century in ODIs. 
  • Tendulkar had become the first batsman to achieve this milestone.
  • Gill broke Ishan's record en route to his milestone and became the youngest batter to score a double-century. 
  • Gill is 23 years and 132 days old while Ishan was 24 years and 145 days old when he scored the double-century.
