पिक्सेल, एक अंतरिक्ष-प्रौद्योगिकी स्टार्टअप, जिसका मुख्यालय बेंगलुरु में है, ने घोषणा की कि उसने स्पेसएक्स फाल्कन -9 रॉकेट के साथ अपना पहला पूर्ण विकसित वाणिज्यिक उपग्रह 'शकुंतला' (प्रौद्योगिकी डेमोंस्ट्रेटर -2) का सफलतापूर्वक प्रक्षेपण किया है।
यह स्टार्टअप कमर्शियल इमेजिंग सैटेलाइट भेजने वाली पहली भारतीय निजी कंपनी बन गई है।
यह प्रक्षेपण स्पेसएक्स के ट्रांसपोर्टर -4 मिशन के तहत किया गया है।
'शकुंतला' उपग्रह एक निम्न-कक्षा इमेजिंग उपग्रह है, जिसे अब तक अंतरिक्ष में उड़ाए गए उच्चतम-रिज़ॉल्यूशन हाइपरस्पेक्ट्रल वाणिज्यिक कैमरों में से एक के साथ स्थापित किया गया है।
