Scientists in India have developed a new biodegradable polymer.

Guar gum and chitosan, both polysaccharides produced from guar beans and crab and shrimp shells, were used by a group of Indian scientists to create an environmentally friendly, non-toxic, biodegradable polymer.
The fabricated guar gum-chitosan film has good water stability, mechanical strength, and resilience to harsh environmental conditions, and it might be employed in packaging.
