Rajesh Verma appointed secretary to President Draupadi Murmu

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet appointed Odisha cadre IAS officer Rajesh Verma as the secretary to President Droupadi Murmu.
A graduate in electrical engineering, Verma is currently serving as the secretary of the Union ministry of corporate affairs.
Verma, who hails from Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan, will replace Kapil Dev Tripathi in his new assignment.
Verma was inducted into the central deputation in July 2019.
Before going to the Centre, Verma had served as the principal secretary to chief minister Naveen Patnaik for two years from January 2017.
