PM Narendra Modi inaugurates India-Nepal cross border passenger train

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nepal's Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba inaugurated a cross-border railway between Jaynagar (India) and Kurtha (Nepal) to improve ties between the two nations.
The 35-km (22-mile) railway was reconstructed by India as a grant. It was built by the colonial British Indian government as a narrow-gauge line to transport logs from Nepal.
Jaynagar is an existing terminal station of the Samastipur-Jaynagar broad gauge section of the East Central Railway and is the last rail head located close to the Indo-Nepal border.
