Open-air classroom program launched in West Bengal

  • West Bengal government launched an open-air classroom programme Paray Shikshalaya (Neighbourhood Schools) for primary and pre-primary students, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • The Bengal government has decided to get children accustomed to the physical classes.
  • For this, the government has selected clubs and parks to hold classes for standards 1 to 7.
  • The state government will also provide mid-day meals to the students of ‘Paray Shikshalaya’. The para teachers and primary school teachers would be part of this project.
