  • भारत की आजादी के ऐतिहासिक 75वें वर्ष को चिह्नित करने के लिए, भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (इसरो) भारत भर के 75 स्कूलों की 750 छात्राओं द्वारा विकसित 'आजादीसैट' नामक एक उपग्रह लॉन्च किया है।
  • यह परियोजना आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव समारोह का हिस्सा है।
  • उपग्रह को 7 अगस्त को अपने पहले मिशन पर लघु उपग्रह प्रक्षेपण यान (एसएसएलवी) का उपयोग करके लॉन्च किया गया है।
  • आज़ादीसैट, भारत की स्वतंत्रता के 75 वें वर्ष का जश्न मनाने के अलावा, महिला सशक्तिकरण का प्रतीक है।
  • आज़ादीसैट रविवार को सुबह 9:18 बजे श्रीहरिकोटा के सतीश धवन अंतरिक्ष केंद्र से लॉन्च किया गया है। उपग्रह का वजन 8 किग्रा है और इसमें 75 पेलोड होंगे जिनका वजन 50 ग्राम है।
  • आज़ादीसैट को अपनी पहली यात्रा पर लघु उपग्रह प्रक्षेपण यान (एसएसएलवी) द्वारा 145 किग्रा पृथ्वी अवलोकन 2 उपग्रह के साथ लॉन्च किया गया है।
