  • Infantry Day/Infantry Day is celebrated every year on 27 October to commemorate the sacrifice of the infantry soldiers of the Indian Army.
  • After the merger of Jammu and Kashmir with the Indian Union, Pakistan tribals attacked with the help of the army there.
  • After the attack, on 27 October 1947, 1 Sikh Regiment was sent there for the operation on behalf of the Government of India.
