  • Indian Army Day is celebrated on 15 January, a day to honour the valour and dedication of the Indian Army. The day is celebrated to commemorate the assumption of office by General KM Cariappa as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army in 1949.
  • The 77th Indian Army Day will be held under the theme "Samarth Bharat, Saksham Sena" which will feature military parades, manoeuvres and display of state-of-the-art military equipment at Cariappa Parade Ground in Delhi.
