केंद्रीय सड़क परिवहन और राजमार्ग मंत्री नितिन गडकरी ने मुंबई में भारत की पहली इलेक्ट्रिक डबल डेकर वातानुकूलित बस का अनावरण किया है।
अशोक लीलैंड समर्थित स्विच मोबिलिटी लिमिटेड (स्विच) द्वारा निर्मित, इलेक्ट्रिक डबल-डेकर में अधिक क्षमता है और यह सिंगल-डेकर बसों की तुलना में लगभग दोगुने यात्रियों को ले जा सकता है।
स्विच ईआईवी 12 पहली पूरी तरह से इलेक्ट्रिक बस है जिसे विशेष रूप से भारतीय बाजार के लिए डिज़ाइन किया गया है।
डबल-डेकर का आर्किटेक्चर 650 V सिस्टम का उपयोग करता है - स्विच EiV 12 के समान प्लेटफॉर्म, जिसे जून 2022 में लॉन्च किया गया था, जो कि स्विच e1 के साथ भी सामान्य है।
