India ranked 46th in EIU’s Democracy Index

  • India has been ranked 46th with 6.91 points in the global ranking of 'Democracy Index 2021' released by The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).
  • With the highest score of 9.75, Norway topped the Democracy Index 2021 by Economist Intelligence.
  • Our neighbour Pakistan has been placed further below in the hybrid regime with a rank of 104.
  • The Economist Intelligence's Democracy Index report releases the list of democratic countries in the world. In this index, the rank is decided on the basis of a scale of 1-10 points.
  • Norway ranked first in this index, New Zealand in second place, and Finland in third place.
