Hindustan Zinc’s Mines Becomes 1st Greenco-certified Mines

Rampura Agucha Mine and Zawar Group of Mines of Hindustan Zinc Limited(HZL) become the first GreenCo-certified mines. They received the GreenCo Silver rating from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for their sustainable mining operations.
The mines were certified for their exemplary performance in waste & material management, green infrastructure & ecology, green supply chain, GHG (Green House Gas) emissions reduction, and renewable energy initiatives.
GreenCo Rating is the “first of its kind in the World” holistic framework that evaluates companies on the environmental friendliness of their activities using life cycle approach.
Hindustan Zinc, a Vedanta Group Company, is one of the world’s largest and India’s only integrated producers of Zinc-Lead and Silver.
