ED director's tenure extended to 5 years

Parliament passed legislation to increase the director of the Enforcement Directorate's tenure to a maximum of five years from the current two years.
On December 9, the Lok Sabha approved the Central Vigilance Commission (Amendment) Bill-2021.
The bill would increase the director of the Enforcement Directorate's tenure from two to five years.
The current term of the ED Director is two years.
The tenure of the Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is also expanded by Parliament a few days ago, from two years to a maximum of five years.
