· Daniil Medvedev of Russia won his maiden Grand Slam trophy by defeating Novak Djokovic 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 in the US Open men's singles final at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.
· Second seed Medvedev dominated from start to finish, shattering Djokovic's dream of a calendar slam and 21st major.
· With this Djokovic failing to become the third man behind Don Buzz and Rod Laver to win all four majors in the same year, Medvedev made a stellar performance at the US Open with a memorable win.
