रोनाल्डो सिंह ने इतिहास रच दिया क्योंकि वह एशियाई ट्रैक चैम्पियनशिप के समापन के दिन स्प्रिंट स्पर्धा में दूसरे स्थान पर रहकर सीनियर वर्ग में एक महाद्वीपीय टूर्नामेंट में रजत जीतने वाले पहले भारतीय साइकिल चालक बन गए।
उन्होंने जापान के अनुभवी राइडर केंटो यामासाकी को कड़ी टक्कर दी लेकिन रजत पदक से ही संतोष करना पड़ा।
यामासाकी ने रोनाल्डो को बैक-टू-बैक रेस में हराकर पोडियम के शीर्ष पर कब्ज़ा किया है। इस स्पर्धा में कजाकिस्तान के एंड्री चुगे ने कांस्य पदक जीता है।
यह (रोनाल्डो का रजत) एशियाई चैंपियनशिप में किसी भारतीय द्वारा जीता गया पहला रजत है।
