China builds 'artificial moon' for gravity experiment

Chinese scientists have built an "artificial moon" research facility that will enable them to simulate low-gravity environments using magnetism.
Through this artificial moon, scientists will be able to investigate new instruments and prepare for future missions according to the conditions and environment of the atmosphere there.
The diameter of this artificial moon or 'mini moon' is about 2 feet. Its artificial surface is made up of rocks and dust that are as light as those on the Moon.
The idea to develop the facility has its roots in the Russian-born physicist Andre Geim’s experiments to levitate a frog with a magnet.
