  • In the 56th match of Indian Premier League being played between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders, the young RR opener Yashasvi Jaiswal created history by smashing a sensational fifty at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
  • During his blistering knock, Jaiswal completed his fastest fifty in just 13 deliveries.
  • Yashasvi played an unbeaten inning of 98 runs in 47 balls, which included 13 fours and five sixes.
  • Before this, the record for the fastest century was held by KL Rahul and Chris Gayle. Rahul had scored a half-century in 14 deliveries against Delhi Capitals, while Gayle achieved the feat against Mumbai Indians in the same 14 number of deliveries.
  • Yashasvi Jaiswal became the player who scored the most runs in the opening over of any innings of IPL.
  • Yashasvi broke the record of Prithvi Shaw, who scored 24 runs in the first over against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2021.
