Science Day for Peace and Development is an annual tradition, commemorated on November 10, to celebrate how science promotes global peace and development.
The many inventions and discoveries of scientists have helped to promote, amongst others, economic development, poverty reduction, literacy, and better nutrition for millions of people around the world.
The purpose of celebrating this day is to remember the achievements of science in achieving global peace and to continue investment in scientific education and research.
The theme of World Science Day for Peace and Development on 10 November 2022 is “Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development”.
