  • The World Day for Audiovisual Heritage (WDAH), observed on October 27 each year, commemorates the adoption of the Recommendation for the Safeguarding and Preservation of Moving Images by the 21st General Conference in 1980.
  • This year the theme of the World Day for Audiovisual Heritage is “Your Window to the World“.
  • The WDAH satisfies UNESCO's constitutional mandate by promoting the "free flow of ideas by word and image" as a representation of our common heritage and memory.
