Every year on October 16, World Anaesthetic Day is observed to honour the work of anaesthesia providers throughout the world who help medical professionals have successful procedures.
The "first effective use of diethyl ether anaesthesia" in 1846 is commemorated on World Anaesthesia Day.
The first dosage of anaesthetic was given at a Massachusetts general hospital.
"Anaesthesia and having a baby" is the theme for National Anaesthesia Day 2021.
