  • G20's official engagement group, Women20, held its Jan Bhagidari (Citizen Connect) programme in Mahabalipuram on 14 June 2023.
  • The summit is being held till June 16 (Friday) on the theme 'Women-led development - Transform, Thrive and Transcend'. 
  • The Summit also emphasised the importance of women's health and gender empowerment and the role of families in supporting children's rights.
  • The first session focused on the convergence of women's health, gender equality, and social and economic development in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
  • The 2nd Women's 20 (W20) International Meeting was held in Jaipur, Rajasthan on April 13 and the meeting was attended by 120 women leaders from 18 G20 countries.
  • The Citizen Connect programme, on the theme of The Journey of Empowerment, is supported by the National Rural Livelihood Mission, the Tamil Nadu Rural Development Department and the Union Ministry of Rural Development.
  •  The inaugural address of the third and final Women's 20 (W20) Summit has been delivered by Dr. Sandhya Purecha, President, W20 India.
