India will be the third country in the world after Bolivia and Mexico City, to have a ropeway for public transportation, which will be located in Varanasi.
The aerial ropeway service in Varanasi will cover a distance of 4.2 kilometres.
Varanasi, also known as the Gateway to Eastern India, will cover the Rs 424 crore pilot project for the ropeway service.
The ropeway service is expected to be available at night.
