In December, 2023, the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) released the statistics of crimes in the country.
According to these figures, in the year 2022, the highest number of criminal cases in the country have been registered in Uttar Pradesh.
In terms of criminal cases, Maharashtra is at second place and Madhya Pradesh is at third place.
In terms of crimes taking place in cities, Delhi is at first place and Mumbai is at second place.
The highest number of crimes against women have been recorded in Delhi.
In this context, Mumbai is at second place and Bengaluru is at third place.
Maximum 4 lakh 1 thousand 787 cases are registered under various sections of IPC in Uttar Pradesh.
Uttar Pradesh is at first place and Bihar is at second place in highest number of murder cases.
The highest number of kidnapping cases have been registered in Uttar Pradesh.
Maharashtra is at second place in this matter.
The highest number of cases under the POCSO Act have been registered in Maharashtra.
