The fisheries sector primarily provides livelihood, employment and entrepreneurship to over 2.8 crore fishermen and fish farmers

The first phase of Sagar Parikrama started on 5 March 2022 from Mandvi, Gujarat
The 6th phase of Sagar Parikrama will cover the areas of Andaman and Nicobar Islands which include Kaudiya-Ghat, Port Blair, Pani Ghat Fish Landing Centre, VK Pur Fish Landing Centre, Hutbe, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island etc
