Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday took additional charge of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries. Kiren Rijiju already holds the Ministry of Earth Sciences.
President Droupadi Murmu appointed Union Minister Kiren Rijiju to oversee the Ministry of Food Processing Industries after the resignation of Pashupati Kumar Paras.
Paras resigned after his party, the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP), was not included in the Bihar seat-sharing agreement for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The President, as advised by the Prime Minister, accepted Paras' resignation and directed Rijiju to assume additional responsibilities in addition to his existing charge.
