Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 in New Delhi, aiming to foster creativity, problem-solving skills and self-reliance among students. Organized jointly by the Ministry of Education’s School Education & Literacy Department and NITI Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission, the initiative invites students from classes 6 to 12 (teams of 5–7) to participate in a nationwide innovation challenge. Themed around Self-reliant India, Swadeshi, Vocal for Local, and Prosperous India, the event spans from preparation in October to final submissions and evaluations, with winners announced in January 2026. Targeting participation from 12 crore students across 6 lakh schools, the Buildathon will award ₹1 crore in prizes and mentorship to the top 10,000 teams, strengthening India’s position as a global innovation hub.
