The government has approved the recommendations for "One Nation, One Election," which will be implemented in two phases: simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, followed by local body elections within 100 days.
The recommendations were made by a high-level committee chaired by former President Ram Nath Kovind, involving extensive consultations with stakeholders and experts.
