The Union Cabinet has approved 'Mission Mausam' with a ₹2,000 crore investment to enhance weather forecasting and management in India, focusing on advanced technologies like AI and machine learning.
Led by the Ministry of Earth Sciences and implemented by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Mission Mausam will integrate radar and satellite technologies to improve the accuracy of weather predictions and address challenges such as unpredictable rainfall events.
