  • This historic appointment signifies a significant step forward, as Jane becomes the first female British High Commissioner to Pakistan. 
  • Previously, British Ambassador Christian Turner was designated in Pakistan; he has transferred to another Diplomatic Service appointment.
  • Previously, Jane Marriott served as the High Commissioner to Kenya, undertaking her responsibilities from September 2019 to June 2023.
  • Jane has served as Deputy and Acting Ambassador to Tehran and provided invaluable advice to Richard Holbrooke, the US Special Representative to Afghanistan and Pakistan.
