The University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched a new portal named ‘CU-Chayan’ for faculty appointments in central varsities.
The portal was launched on May 2, 2023 by Professor Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar,Chairman, UGC.
The portal will offer a range of features including a consolidated listing of job openings across all participating universities.
The applicant can also search for jobs using various filters like university name, location, designation, category, subject, type of employment, experience, education level, among others.
For universities, the platform will provide real-time tracking of applications, customised admin dashboards, and configurable advertisement rules.
The CU-Chayan portal has been developed in consultation with the VCs of all CUs.
University Grants Commission (UGC) came into existence in 1953.
It became a statutory Organization of the Government of India by an Act of Parliament in 1956.
Its functions are coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of teaching, examination and research in university education.
