Tripura's traditional attire, 'Risa,' has been granted the Geographical Indication (GI) registration, highlighting the state's rich cultural heritage.
The GI tag for 'Risa' not only preserves the traditional craftsmanship and authenticity of the attire but also opens doors for economic opportunities and enhances its visibility nationally and internationally.
'Risa' is known for its unique designs, exclusive multi-color combinations, and lasting texture, and holds significant cultural importance for the Tripuri tribal community.
